Cladrecis by SIRCH

Cladrecis is the toponymal for this line of SIRCH wines. An ancient hillside village in the Judrio valley, on the border with Slovenia, small but with its own Statute since 24 February 1318. Here, the borders that make its history unique and special meet: the perimeter of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, that of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and the Italian border.

Also known in the past as Canal del Judri, it is an enchanting place at 314m above sea level in the Municipality of Prepotto. It is on this land that the project to preserve and restore the ancient vineyards of brothers Pierpaolo and Luca Sirch began. A cool, aerated microclimate, with a significant thermal amplitude, pampers the sloping vineyards amidst centuries-old woods, creating panoramic views of humble and silent beauty. This is how Cladrecis wines are born, true and authentic crus with a strong territorial imprint.

CHARDONNAY CLADRECIS
Friuli Colli Orientali. DOC

Grapes
Chardonnay

Organoleptic description
Intense yellow with distinct golden hues.
Elegant, complex and harmonious on the nose. The citrus notes mingle with creamy pastry sensations like vanilla and crème brûlée. Balsamic finish.
The complex and harmonious taste is sustained by a noble, mineral and sapid acidity. Tropical fruits and dried fruits melt away into the creamy pastry note for a long-refined finish.
Already mentioned in the Catalogue of the 1863 Friulian Exposition under the name of white Burgundy. In 1939, it was judged a “variety of great merit”.

ROSSO CLADRECIS
Friuli Colli Orientali. DOC

Grapes

Merlot, Pignolo and Cabernet.

Organoleptic description
Intense ruby red.
The nose is filled with notes of blueberry confiture, underbrush, fine herbs and a vigorous minerality.
On the palate the bold taste is yet elegant like a noble silk.
The structure and length are ensured by the Merlot, while the potency and the spice mosaic is credited to Pignolo.

A typical wine blend called Bordeaux was sought in Friuli during the Austrian occupation in 1891. Even though Merlot was not yet widespread, it was suggested that it be experimented with: “It was recognized that it is very profitable to use it – Merlot – for blending with Cabernet in order to obtain a greater product, quick to ripen and always of a uniform type, having all the precious characteristics of delicate aroma, flavor, roundness and harmony of taste”.
It is precisely with these objectives in mind that Rosso Cladrecis was born. Just as temperature excursions influence the microclimate of this village, so it maintains a constant presence of Merlot and Pignolo, while the other varietals change from vintage to vintage: sometimes it is Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, which has always been considered one of Friuli’s best vines, and sometimes Cabernet, which is traditionally used in blends with Merlot.

The typical SIRCH

Fresh and crisp wines that express the best regional wine tradition and represent the modern vision of a story that is renewed in time, told with naturalness.

Cladrecis by SIRCH

Wines of rare prestige that are born from the recovery of an ancient viticultural area in the DOC zone of Friuli Colli Orientali and enclose the essence of these lands, where unique natural elements meet.

Schioppettino di Prepotto

A “harmoniously explosive” wine, indissolubly linked to its land of origin: Prepotto. Here, climate, soil and local culture have given life to a real terroir.

Terlato Wines

Wines that look far ahead without losing the sense of their origins: the foothills of the Julian Alps. Freshness in harmony with the sapid and full taste of these hilly lands.
Today, it is no longer the farmers who emigrate from Friuli to the Americas, it is the wines’ turn to travel, bringing the flavors of the Colli Orientali to the United States.
